The Grey

Directed By: Joe Carnahan
Starring: Liam Neeson, Frank Grillo, Dermot Mulroney

Neeson gears up for what looks set to be a tense edge of your seat thrill ride.

Opening this week in the UK and USA is survival thriller The Grey, about an oil drilling team struggling to survive after a plane crash strands them in the wild. Not only do they have the extreme Alaskan conditions to contend with but also a hungry pack of wolves hunting them.

Take a look at the trailer below, we’ve seen snow before in The Thing and Cliffhanger, but what we haven’t yet seen in the snow is one man action star Liam Neeson charging an angry wolf with nothing but empty minibar bottles taped to his fists. Now this alone deserves the tag “A Man’s Man’s Movie,” that has been banded around.

Neeson is used to being the action star of today (see Taken, Unknown and The A-Team; to name a few) and he is again the man who everybody looks too. Well who wouldn’t? With that haunting voice, you’d be hard pressed not to want this guy calling the shots. It’s as if this role was made specifically for Neeson and with The A-Team director Joe Carnahan at the helm this is definitely one I can’t wait to see.

The Grey is released in the UK and USA this Friday 27th January 2012

Australia Release Date: 16th February 2012
