Well it’s all over for another year and the 84th annual Oscar ceremony sprung very few surprises with French silent movie The Artist winning no fewer than 5 awards, including the Best Picture, Actor (Jean Dujardin) and Director (Michel Hazanavicius) awards. Martin Scorsese’s Hugo missed out on Best Picture and Director but it managed to equal The Artist by taking home 5 awards, including, Cinematography, Sound and Visual Effects. Hosted by Billy Crystal for the ninth time this years Oscar delivered what was expected with Meryl Streep winning the Oscar for Best Actress, Christopher Plummer and Octavia Spencer took the supporting awards.
