We already know that Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson will again return to the Fast & the Furious franchise as well as the usual suspects (Vin Diesel and Paul Walker), however with Jason Statham turning down the role as the main villain in the sixth film the part has now been offered to Luke Evans.

Welsh actor Evans has gradually been making a name for himself since his part in 2010’s Clash of the Titans and will be seen later this year in Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit as Bard. It is yet to be confirmed whether he will take the part.

Directed by Justin Lin, the franchise received a seriously cool kick up the backside last year and has been reaping the rewards since, the film is scheduled for release a year from now.

Fast Five was a return to form for the series and big things are expected from the sixth outing next year.
