The wait is finally over, Ridley Scott’s long-awaited return to the Sci-fi genre is here; Prometheus is released in the UK this Friday 1st June.

Synopsis: A team of explorers discover a clue to the origins of mankind on Earth, leading them on a journey to the darkest corners of the universe. There, they must fight a terrifying battle to save the future of the human race.

The highly anticipated Prometheus has been kept on the down low, with details kept to a bare minimum. Originally penned as fifth instalment to the Alien franchise, this is now a standalone film that takes place within the same fictional universe. Audiences are expecting a masterful return to the genre that Ridley Scott helped define.

The cast looks strong with man of the moment Michael Fassbender, Noomi Rapace and Charlize Theron headlining the film.

It is hard to deny that Prometheus looks impressive on a massive scale, with effects that look stunning, you can bet your bottom dollar that Scott would not have done this in 3D if he was not convinced it would enhance it. If the trailer is anything to go by, expect to be blown away and expect scares along the way.

We featured this as one of the must see films of the year, so don’t miss out.

Prometheus is released in the UK on June 1st and across the pond in the US June 8th.

  1. Definitely a must-watch for me. I’m an enormous fan of both Alien and Gladiator, two of Ridley Scott’s other films, so I’m extremely excited for Prometheus.
